Who buys a 500kg pallet

Buyers who have finished evaluating and started forecasting. A pallet is a stocking decision, not a trial: 500kg is enough to supply a regional distribution round or hold a retail line through a season, and it is the point at which our wholesale per-kg pricing begins.

In practice that means regional spice distributors, wholesale market traders, hypermarket supply chains, and manufacturers with a known monthly draw who would rather hold stock than re-quote every six weeks.

Breaking down a pallet

The pallet arrives as 20 individual 25kg sacks, shrink-wrapped and strapped, not as a bonded block. That matters for how you store it: the wrap is transit protection, not storage packaging, and leaving 500kg of breathable jute sealed under film in a warm warehouse works directly against the packaging.

• Cut the shrink wrap on arrival if the pallet is going into medium-term storage. Restrap or re-wrap loosely if you need stability, but let the jute breathe.
• Keep it palletized. The sacks are designed to stack and to be handled by forklift, floor-stacking 20 sacks crushes the bottom rank and pushes moisture up from the slab.
• Draw down from the top and keep the batch codes together. Grades look similar across the 18–22 mm boundary and a mixed-grade pallet is easy to muddle once the wrap is off.
• Segregate from aromatics. At 500kg you are storing enough surface area to pick up a warehouse's smell, not just a shelf's.
