Ordering

Three steps, and one of them is us.

We would rather say this plainly than dress it up: the shop is not open yet. Everything else — the pods, the packs, the courier — is real and ready.

  1. 01
    Pick your pack

250g jar if you are trying it or gifting it, 500g pouch if you already cook with it weekly, 1kg ground if you blend your own masalas.

  2. 02
    Send us the order

There is no checkout yet — we are pre-launch. Message us the pack, the quantity, and your delivery address, and a payment link comes back the same day.

  3. 03
    It ships from Kathmandu

Couriered direct, typically 5–7 business days. Every pack carries the batch number of the kiln load it came from.

In Your Kitchen

Smoky, resinous, and nothing like green cardamom.

One pod goes a long way. Start with tea and rice, and read the guides if you want to push it further.

Chai and spiced tea

One pod cracked open, steeped with ginger and cinnamon. This is the Himalayan chai base, and the reason most people buy a second jar.

How to brew it

Biryani and pulao

Crack one pod per cup of rice into hot ghee before the grain goes in. The smoke carries across the whole pot.

Using it in biryani

Not the green one

Black cardamom is smoky and savoury; green is sweet and floral. They are not substitutes, and swapping them is the most common kitchen mistake.

Black vs green

Keeping an open jar alive

Amber glass is doing real work: light flattens the volatile oils that carry the aroma. The rest is down to where you put it.

  • Cupboard, not fridge. Cold storage drives condensation into the pods every time the jar is opened, and moisture is the one thing whole cardamom does not recover from.
  • Keep pods whole until you cook. An intact husk is the best container the seed will ever have — crack it at the pan, not in advance.
  • Away from the hob and the oven vent. Sustained warmth is the fastest way to lose the top notes after direct light.
  • 24 months from harvest whole, 6 months for ground. The batch number ties your pack back to a specific kiln load.
Kitchen FAQ

What home cooks ask before their first jar.

Anything else, ask us on the contact page. We reply within one business day.

Is there a minimum order for retail?

No. One 250g jar is a complete order. Minimums only apply on the wholesale route, where the smallest export consignment is a 25kg sack.

How do I pay if there is no checkout?

We are pre-launch, so retail orders are placed by message and paid against a payment link we send back. Tell us the pack, quantity, and delivery address on the contact page or over WhatsApp, and you will have a link and a total the same day.

How long does delivery take?

Retail packs are couriered from Kathmandu and typically arrive in 5–7 business days. Customs handling in your own country is the variable, not the flight.

Is the retail cardamom smoked?

Yes. The jar and the pouch are both Bhatti-cured over a wood fire, which is where the deep smoky-resinous note comes from. The smoke-free closed-flue version is available on the wholesale route, where you nominate the drying line at quote time.

Is this the same cardamom you export in bulk?

The same harvest, the same hand-sorting, the same lab tests. The only difference is the pack it goes into: amber glass and valve pouches for the kitchen, lined jute sacks for a container.
